Really? Meebo is Just Now Getting Buzz?

BusinessWeek reports that Meebo is getting a ton of buzz out of the SXSW conference in Austin this week. Kind of surprising. Meebo is three years old. I've been a heavy user and recommending it to others for the past couple of years. It's the easiest way to get on AIM, MSN or Yahoo Messenger without booting up any of those clients -- and it's definitely the easiest way to have two or three of those services open at once on your screen.

Meebo got greater traction last year when it pursued a widget strategy -- i.e., allowing other sites to insert Meebo boxes that power chat or messaging about whatever is on the site. Granted, though, Meebo is still not that well known. Maybe this is its take-off point.
